Noxolo invites us into her home and shares her experience of Sigma Connected’s impact sourcing initiative and explains how she’s been empowered since working for Sigma Connected.

My name is Noxolo Makwayiba. I work at Sigma Connected.

I didn’t do anything for three years, so I just applied for shadow careers; that’s where my life started moving forward. Training in Cape Town was fine because that’s where we started knowing how to communicate with customers, and we were trying to have a start of being an agent.

Making it at Sigma just brought me happiness. I was so shy, but now I’m learning and gaining experience. Meeting new people, learning how to navigate the system, and knowing how to communicate with customers have all been part of this journey.

I didn’t know how to use a laptop before, but now I’m sitting on a PC the whole day. I just really feel empowered and obviously love my job.
