Celebrating Growth – Dimitri Lee

As part of our ongoing Celebrating Growth series, this time round we focus on operations manager, Dimitri Lee.

Dimitri, 29, has been with Sigma Connected for seven years having originally joined us as a customer advisor back in November 2015. Since then, the father-of-one has shone and rapidly risen through the ranks with him now working as an operations manager with two direct reports.

When he initially joined, Dimitri was working on customer surveys but quickly moved over to customer complaint handling. Just 10 months later he went for a deputy team leader role and successfully got the job. It was a role he loved and after only eight months, he received a further promotion into a team manager role where he stayed for two years working on debt campaigns.

Two years and a heap of experience later, Dimitri again progressed into a service delivery manager role for a further few years, before moving into his fifth and current position as operations manager where he is the bridge between us and our clients, looking after governance and daily client relations.

Dimitri takes up his story.

“Before coming to Sigma Connected I worked in the logistic industry, mainly on night shifts. That can take its toll so I wanted a new role working normal hours.

“When I first joined the business, I was taken aback by the friendliness and camaraderie from everyone. The environment felt special. Seven years on and that feeling has stayed the same.

“I’ve been fortunate to have moved through the ranks at a fairly fast pace and very grateful for the opportunities I have been given. Sigma is a business where hard work is rewarded and encouragement is given at every turn.

“Training has also been a big reason for my progress, and for many other people too. The courses and modules tailored by our Learning and Development team have all made sure that if you want to progress, and are curious, you don’t stand still. This is also the case with a Level 5 Operations qualification I am doing which is an 18-month course Sigma is sponsoring, and which I hope will help me one day move into a senior operations role.

“As a leader myself now I am always happy to take time out of my day to help colleagues with their own development, I get such a buzz from it. I want to support others like I’ve been supported.

“It gives immense satisfaction to see any of my colleagues progressing and achieving in a business which we widely and rightly call, the Sigma family.

“Even during the pandemic Sigma were wonderful in allowing me flexible working to be able to play my part in supporting my young son, something I truly appreciated.”
