Sigma Connected announces executive leadership changes

Sigma Connected has announced changes to its executive leadership team, appointing Mike Harfield as Chief Executive Officer and Peter Doveren as Chief Growth Officer.

Mike co-founded Sigma Connected 15 years ago and, as COO, has been key in shaping its growth, operations and client relationships. He will continue to lead the business as CEO.

Peter joined Sigma Connected four years ago and has played an important role in developing the company’s strategy and direction. As Chief Growth Officer, his remit will broaden to bring together growth, strategy, innovation and the development of new client solutions, drawing on his extensive experience of forging long-term client relationships.

Mike Harfield said: “Over the past 15 years, I’ve been lucky to work alongside brilliant people who have helped make Sigma Connected what it is today.

“For me, this role is about building on what already makes Sigma Connected special. We’ll stay close to our clients, look after our people and always be ready to roll up our sleeves when something needs solving.

“There’s a lot of opportunity ahead, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”

Peter Doveren said: “One of the things that struck me when I joined Sigma Connected was the warmth of the business and how much people genuinely wanted to work together. That’s still very much there today, and there’s a real sense of excitement about what comes next.

“Our industry is changing quickly, particularly around technology and AI, but our approach remains the same: listen to what clients actually need and design the right solution around them. My focus will be on bringing together our people, technology, innovation and operational expertise to do exactly that.”

The changes follow co-founder Gary Gilburd’s decision to step down as Chief Executive Officer and leave the business. Chief Commercial Officer Ben Jones will also be moving on, remaining with Sigma Connected until the new year before taking up a new role.

On the leadership transition, Mike said: “Gary and I started Sigma Connected together, so this is obviously a big moment for both of us. Over the last 15 years, Gary, Andrew and I have worked side by side building the business into what it is today. Whilst it’s sad to see Gary go, Andrew and I will continue to work closely together, alongside the rest of the Board, as we take Sigma Connected into its next phase.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and hugely grateful for everything Gary has brought to the business over the years.

“Ben has also played a vital part in Sigma Connected’s growth and in strengthening our client relationships. His contribution has been invaluable, and we wish both Gary and Ben every success for the future.”
