Sigma powers ahead with double award win

Rapidly expanding West Midlands business outsource specialist Sigma Financial Group has won two major industry awards for its pioneering work with the energy sector.

A team of 90 specialists from the firm have been named ‘Energy Team of the Year’ in the 2015 Utilities and Telecoms Awards for the early arrears customer contact services provided to leading energy suppliers.

The thriving Midlands company, which has offices in Redditch and Birmingham, beat competition from household names in the energy industry including British Gas, NPower, Ovo Energy and Extra Energy.

Meanwhile, the firm has also collected the Outsourcing Partnership of the Year title at the 2015 Midlands Contact Centre Forum Awards (MCCF) – which again recognised the work Sigma has done in partnership with major energy suppliers.

The awards provide the latest in a line of good news for the firm and come only seven months after Sigma announced it plans to bring 700 new jobs to Birmingham by December 2016. The new jobs will more than double the firm’s workforce.

Gary Gilburd, Managing Director and co-founder of Sigma, said: “In both awards we have had exceptional feedback from the judges as we were up against some great businesses in two tough categories.

“But overall the judges were blown away by our story and what we had accomplished in the energy sector since launching the team in May last year. It is fantastic for the whole team at Sigma to walk away with both awards and a huge endorsement of what we have achieved.

“It is the icing on the cake for what has been a massively successful year for us.”

MCCF involves 680 call centres across the region sharing best practice ideas and knowledge, with industry experts having singled Sigma out for praise.

Sigma works in the B2B and B2C sectors with clients including major blue chip organisations from the utilities, financial services, retail and telecommunications industries.
